Join us this month at our Sailor Social for bra decorating and a very special talk from LPWSA member, Heidi, in support of our annual Pink Ribbon Regatta for breast cancer awareness!Heidi Netherton is a retired RN and a 20 year survivor of breast cancer. After earning her BSN from William Carey University and her Masters in Social Work from Tulane University, she completed a 12-month internship at the famous Charity Hospital in New Orleans. In 2003 she accepted an award at the Louisiana Governor’s Mansion for her winning essay on “The Beauty of Early Detection.” Heidi will share her experience and teach the simple breast self examination technique that helped save her life.
